Action for Human Rights of Saman Kalantari, Iranian artists, during the 1st International Congress for Women’s Museums in Merano, June 11, 2008 - Kursaal Merano

Shirin Ebadi signs the canvasDuring the evening lecture by Shirin Ebadi in Merano, the Iranian artist initiated a collection of signatures on a screen to support the campaign for human rights "of one million signatures for equality" - art acts as support for the campaign for human rights. The hope is that the number of screens multiplies quickly.


 

 

 

 

Saman Kalantari was born in 1972 in Shiraz. He received a university degree in English language. He worked as a tour guide and developed artistic projects. In 2004 he flew the country and asked for political asylum in Italy. In 2005, starts two-year training at the school "Vetroricerca Glass&Modern". He currently lives and works in Bolzano at the Museion. Recently, he was awarded for his glass art in the United States.
